Business Structure

Babcock is structured in the following four Divisions:

Marine: Archie Bethel – Divisional Chief Executive

Babcock is the UK’s leading naval support business and has a unique role supporting the Royal Navy and the Ministry of Defence. Key activities include base porting, refitting, refuelling and decommissioning submarines; maintaining and refitting warships, building the next generation aircraft carriers, managing naval bases and providing equipment support on behalf of the UK Government.

Archie Bethel has been with Babcock since January 2004, throughout which time he has led the Marine Division and he will continue in the role of Chief Executive of the Division. He will also retain responsibility for Marine operations in both Australia and Canada.

Defence and Security: John Davies – Divisional Chief Executive

The Defence and Security division is a major support provider to all three Armed Forces delivering leading-edge training and asset support. The division has a strong partnering relationship with its customers and a deep understanding of military ethos.

John Davies has been with the former VT since 2000 and was previously Group Managing Director with specific responsibility for the Defence business. John will become the Chief Executive of the newly formed Defence and Security Division, with responsibility for operations in the UK and around the world.

Support Services: Kevin Thomas – Divisional Chief Executive

The Support Services Division delivers a broad range of training and support services to a number of civil government and blue-chip customers, including government departments, police authorities, fire and rescue authorities, local authorities and international companies. Services provided by the Division include: Equipment Support, Infrastructure Support, Education & Training and Communications.

Kevin Thomas joined Babcock when it acquired the SGI business in June 2002. Between 2002 and 2006 he led the Infrastructure Services business and from 2006 to 2010 served as Group Business Development Director. Kevin will continue in the role of Chief Executive for Support Services, a position which he has held since February 2010.

International: Peter Rogers

USA
Babcock, operating as VT Group Inc., provides support to the US armed forces, ranging from the design and implementation of specific training programmes to the maintenance and logistics support of key assets, including communication systems, facilities, vehicles and aircraft.

The VT Group Inc. operations remain under David Dacquino, who will report to the Proxy Board in the USA. Peter Rogers will also have oversight for VT Group Inc. operations.

Africa
Babcock is a leading supplier of engineering support services to the energy, process, mining and construction industries in Africa.

The Africa operations continue under the direction of Roger O’Callaghan, who will report to Peter Rogers.

Middle East

With a presence in both Oman and the United Arab Emirates, Babcock is able to bring management capability and engineering support service expertise to the Middle East, building local partnerships to deliver world-class services.

The Middle East operations, including the Airwork Joint Venture in Oman, are headed by Andy Pearson, who will continue to report to Peter Rogers.
