Nuclear Site Management Services
As the parent body organisation responsible for the management of the decommissioning programmes at Dounreay, Harwell and Winfrith on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Babcock has real experience of managing and operating nuclear sites successfully and safely. Babcock is also responsible for managing the Windscale decommissioning projects at Sellafield under contract to Sellafield Limited, and is the site licensee and Tier 1 management contractor for the nuclear facilities at Devonport, Rosyth and Faslane.

Babcock’s construction capability is demonstrated by the breadth of its engineering, installation and refurbishment experience at nuclear facilities, ranging from erection of reactor cores and major fuel handling equipment, through pressurised pipe-work systems, to the commissioning of reactor control and instrumentation systems.

Decommissioning
Our extensive capabilities and experience in the complete decommissioning of nuclear equipment and sites allows Babcock to provide a fully integrated solution that can be delivered in house. Over the years we have developed a full range of dismantling and decontamination skills that are now being put to use in the decommissioning of various nuclear facilities around the UK.

Waste Management
